Christmas in the Country - Christmas Table Style
I thought you might like a little 'Christmas in the Country' inspiration from our Noel en Juillet Christmas in July Workshop earlier this year, held at the beautiful Royalla Farmstay in the NSW Southern Highlands. It was a beautiful rustic long table Christmas lunch, abundant with fresh flowers, greenery, red wine, hearty lamb and poached pears. This was a Christmas lunch to remember, and you can re-create this very special 'Christmas in the Country' style in your own home this Christmas.  Thanks to our photographer Jess Kneebone for capturing the day beautifully on camera. You can read all about it here at Christmas in July

LOVE // Vespa 946 Emporio Armani Launch

Dec 20, 2015

I’m certain we’ve all indulged in day dreaming of the Italian coast line many a time; a long lunch of pizza washed down with Aperol spritzes, meandering through Rome with a gelato in hand, and of course that iconic Vespa ride winding through the chaotic city streets. Fortunately, that Italian dream is not too far off becoming a reality.

The signature luxury Italian company Giorgio Armani has created a modern day reinterpretation of the classic Vespa series. As a celebration of their 40th anniversary. Alluding to 1946, the year Vespa became known and famous around the world, Vespa 946 Emporio Amani is a fusion of technology and style which is sure to bring an entirely unique experience to the owner.

What better way to launch this collaboration of two of the most signature and renowned Italian companies than throw a party in its honour? Emporio Armani hosted the celebrations as the Vespa 946 was unveiled and became available to the public.

The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani features beautiful aesthetic qualities of brown leather detailing and a satin charcoal body with hints of a subtle and subdued greens evident under particular lighting conditions.  Functionally the Vespa 946 is an ideal choice for city riding with features such as electronic riding controls, a four-stroke electronic injection engine and minimal emissions.

The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani has been produced as an exclusive limited run which is certainly not to be missed. After witnessing it for myself it’s definitely been added to my wish list!

The Kinfolk Home | Interiors for Slow Living

The Kinfolk Home - INTERIORS FOR SLOW LIVING
After a long association with Kinfolk Magazine, as the host of many Sydney Kinfolk dinner events, I was thrilled to see the launch of the beautiful new offering from the Kinfolk team. The book is called The Kinfolk Home and it is dedicated to interiors for Slow Living.

In The Kinfolk Home  author Nathan Williams takes readers into 35 homes around the world that reflect the values of slow living: cultivating community, simplifying our lives and reclaiming time for what matters most. With 289 full-color photographs spanning 368 pages, The Kinfolk Home is a detailed exploration into living spaces from the United States, Scandinavia, Asia and more.

Through a mix of portrait and interior photography, profiles and essays, readers are welcomed into the homes of designers, entrepreneurs, architects, photographers and stylists across five continents. Delving deeper than decor, Williams invites each resident to share how their ideals have shaped their homes and how their homes have in turn shaped them. At the heart of each living space is an aesthetic shaped by the dweller’s idea of what is essential—whether it’s a collection of inherited French antiques, a table long enough for a dinner party of a dozen or minimalist rooms reserved for creative thought. What each of these homes shares is that they’ve been put together carefully, slowly and with intention.

Kinfolk has been promoting the slow living movement for some time now, as reflected in our recent Sydney event 'In Praise of Slowness'

Bannisters Pavilion | Mollymook | NSW South Coast

Dec 15, 2015

Australias Newest Boutique Hotel Opens on Mollymook Beach

BannistersHotels have expanded their portfolio by opening their new coastal boutique hotel Bannisters Pavilion.

The new boutique hotel offers 32 stylish guest rooms and 2 luxurious penthouse suites, with a stunning backdrop of Eucalyptus trees. The hotel is set back from Mitchell Parade and Beach Road, steps away from Mollymook Beach which is famous for its natural beauty, surf breaks, and unspoilt coastline.

A highlight of Bannisters Pavilion is the expansive rooftop lined with sun beds, umbrellas, private lounge spaces, a bar-and-grill and spectacular suspended pool, providing the ideal coastal getaway.

The rooftop is designed to allow guests to seamlessly move between the pool, bar-and-grill and lounge areas to take full advantage of the food & beverage options, available from noon.

Food is inspired by Mediterranean, Southern Californian and Mexican cuisines, complemented by seasonal cocktails, craft beers and an Antipodean-focused wine list. The first menu is included below.

Bannisters Pavilion is a collaboration between owner Peter Cosgrove, architect Tony Freeman (Molnar Freeman), interior designers Mia Ward (Wiwa Design), Romy Alwill (Alwill Interiors) and landscape designer William Dangar. The hotel secured a grant from Destination NSW to help with the quality of the fitout, seeing copper lights in the Rooftop Bar area, larger bathrooms in all of the rooms and a stunning double height lobby area with contemporary furniture and fittings.

Situated just 100 metres from the beach, the design ethos focuses as much on the Eucalyptus trees as its stunning aqua backdrop. Design inspiration was drawn from the natural beauty of the area and represents accent colours from both forest-and-sea,said Romy Alwill.

Bannisters Pavilion represents an extraordinary tourism project for Mollymook Beach and the NSW South Coast, a blossoming region only a three-hour drive from Sydney and two-and-a-half hours from Canberra.
